A delightful house in the heart of Provence - Cotignac, France

Picture of our house here

"Cotignac is a Sunday supplement quality Provencal village where everything is just right. Though this area gets its share of foreign and Parisian summer folk, it isn't quite chic. There's enough lavender and blowing cypresses, plenty of wine, and...at the base of the cliffs there is a meadow where Cotignac holds its summer music festival. Some of Provence's loveliest and most typical landscapes.... "
- Cadogan Guides

One of the best times to visit is from October to April when the weather is cool. The harvest is in and sanglier (wild boar) and other wild game is served in the restaurants along with the new wines. It is also a time when many colorful festivals take place and our rates are their lowest!

Location: Cotignac, Provence, Var (83), France
Enjoy the best of Provence in this charming historic village surrounded by vineyards. Walk around the corner for the best croissants and bagettes or down the street to a dozen cafes and restaurants on the plaza by the fountains. This is a village that has it all - from wine and food to summer theater, troglodyte houses and caves as well as a great waterfall (see picture below). Nearby are the Grand Canyon of the Verdun and the Abbey of Thoronet. One hour by car from Avignon, a half hour from Aix en Provence and forty five minutes from St. Tropez. Just two hours from Itlay.
